Orange Box (PS3) Might Be 'Unplayable'?

If you’ve been looking forward to playing the Orange Box on your beloved PS3, you might be in for a big disappointment. At least that’s what 1up.com’s preview says. Here it is in their words:

"After spending a significant amount of time with a near final version of the PS3 game, it's apparent that this version suffers from a number of technical flaws, which at best merely hinder game play and at worst make the experience downright unplayable."

At yesterday's PlayStation Experience event at Taj Land’s End, Mumbai (which rocked by the way; we’ll have an article up to tell you what went down at the event), we had a chance to get our hands on an early build of Portal and it didn’t frame that badly. The textures did seem a little off though, but I guess they'll fix that in the final build.

For those of you that don’t already know, the Orange Box is being ported for the PS3 by EA's internal studio since Valve didn’t want anything to do with it. If you remember, Valve Software’s founder Gabe Newell called the PS3 "a waste of everybody's time"; I guess his attitude’s reflected in the kind of treatment the Orange Box’s getting on the console.
