Google To Enter Hosted-Services Market

The rumors about Google's entry into the hosted-services market have been circulating for sometime now. However these rumors may soon become reality, as it has just been reported that Google is all set to unveil a whole slew of services on this front.

This news which has been broken by WSJ is expected to be ready by very early next year and will reportedly include a limited amount of free space with extra space available on payment basis. Over the last year, online storage services are increasingly becoming popular as user-driven content rises and these services make it possible for a user to easily access their content from any browser and a net connection.

However despite this announcement, the fact remains Google is entering the market late. Direct rivals like Microsoft, Amazon and majors like EMC Corp. have already unveiled their own version of these services. Will Google be able to succeed against their altogether larger rivals... only time will tell.
