Toshiba Unveils X205 SLI Equipped Laptops

Toshiba looking to extend its presence in the high-end laptop market has just unveiled 2 new laptops that feature SLI for enhanced graphical performance. The two models that have been introduced are the Satellite X205-SLI1 and Satellite X205-SLI3. Both of these laptops are 17" notebooks packed with Core 2 Duo processors and 2GB of DDR2 memory. The X205-SLI3 sports a 2.2GHz processor and a native resolution of 1650x1050, while the X205-SLI1 has a 2.0GHz processor and a 1440x900 native resolution.

For the graphics of these laptops Toshiba has thrown in a dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT mobile GPUs, which run in SLI mode and come with a combined 512MB of memory for the fastest possible graphical performance that can be achieved. Apart from this, Toshiba has also included an HD DVD/DVD burner on both machines as well as an HDMI-out port, Harman Kardan 5.1 surround sound, Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN networking, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, embedded webcam and a biometric fingerprint scanner. The X205-SLI3 even comes bundled with an USB HDTV tuner.

"Toshiba’s addition of NVIDIA SLI technology to their gaming notebooks further demonstrates their commitment to delivering the ultimate entertainment experience to gamers on the go," said NVIDIA Notebook GPU general manager Rene Hass.

The X205-SLI3 is expected to retail at $2,499.99 and the Satellite X205-SLI1 will cost $1999.
