Hewlett Packard (HP) India has announced the launch of a new range of Compaq desktop and laptop computers, along with the unveiling of a new logo for Compaq. The new range under Compaq includes Compaq Presario laptops, V6425TU and V6406TU and Compaq Presario SG3053IL and SG3043IL desktop computers.
The company says the new range is re-engineered with a new look and reflects how simplicity, technology and sophistication can meet computing needs with exceeding results.
Unveiling the new brand identity, Satjiv Chahil, Senior Vice President, Global marketing, HP said, "As part of our ongoing strategy to support two distinct brands in the consumer space, HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario, the company is introducing the refreshed modern redesign of the Compaq wordmark and logo to help further differentiate and define the Compaq brand. The new CQ logo will add new dimensions to the 'Kal Tumhara Hai' campaign championed by Shah Rukh khan, bringing the empowerment proposition at the forefront, for Compaq."
The Compaq Presario Desktop SG3043IL is packed with Intel Pentium D Processor 925 with EM64T (2 x 2 MB L2 Cache, 3.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, Dual-core), 256 MB PC2-5300 DDR2 (667 MHz), 80 GB SERIAL ATA Hard drive, 48X/32X/16X/48X CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive and Free DOS. Compaq Presario SG3053IL comes with Intel Pentium Processor E2140 with EM64T, (1 MB L2 Cache, 1.6 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, Dual-core), 256 MB PC2-5300 DDR2 (667 MHz), 80 GB SERIAL ATA Hard drive, 48X/32X/16X/48X CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive and FreeDOS.
The Compaq Presario notebook, V6425TU is powered by Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2080 (1.73 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache, 533 MHz FSB), 120 GB Serial ATA hard drive, features an 8X SuperMulti Drive Double Layer (8.5 GB) DVD Writer, 15.4" Color TFT, BrightView WideScreen, Wireless LAN 802.11b/g and Free DOS. Compaq Presario notebook V6406TU is powered by Intel Celeron-M 520 (1.6 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache, 533 MHz FSB, EM64T) has the same specifications as the V6425TU.
The laptop portfolio of Compaq Presario V600 series ranges from Rs. 25,990 to Rs. 45,990.
Meanwhile, brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan, who was present at the launch got more than what he bargained for, when a large cardboard Compaq Logo fell on him as he made a quick exit from center stage, dodging the photographers. Whoever said being a star was easy, now knows how tough it is to dodge brickbats and cardboards!
