Pantech Develops Phone for Hearing Impaired

Pantech, the Korean mobile phone manufacturer has developed a mobile phone that will be effective even for people who have hearing problems. The Pantech A1407PT is a clamshell phone which uses bone conducting technology to transmit sound waves to the users inner ear. As strange as that may sound, it will also come in handy when using the phone in noisy environments.

Other than this highlighted feature the A1407PT is equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 2.4 inch QVGA internal display and a 96 x 64 pixel resolution external display. The A1407PT also has support for microSD cards but has only 20MB of internal memory.

The phone will be available in Japan in November. Price details have not yet been disclosed.
