MSN India has launched Cool Hotmail, a service where email users can choose from 250 domain names and create an email ID that best describes them. So in case you are a fan of the Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, you can have an e-mail id with the domain name @clubdhoni.com. The domain names are placed in five categories – Where I live, Who I like, Who I am, What I like and I don’t fit.
The email platform for Cool Hotmail is Windows Live Mail, which provides 5GB storage and access to a 500MB online storage vault called Sky Drive. The company will also roll out its TVC in two days, with the punch line ‘No more same pinch’.
MSN India had earlier experimented with custom domains when it launched lokhandwalarocks.com for resident of Lokhandwala in Andheri West, a suburb in Mumbai. India is the first country where MSN has launched custom domains on a large scale and its success will decide the company’s plans to launch the service in other countries.
