Bangladesh Gets Its First BlackBerry

Bangladesh's Grameenphone and Research In Motion (RIM) have launched the first BlackBerry solution in Bangladesh.

Available for the first time in Bangladesh, BlackBerry smartphones will provide Grameenphone's customers with access to a range of mobile applications, including email, browsing, messaging, phone, organizer, multimedia and a wide range of other business and lifestyle applications.

Grameenphone will initially offer the BlackBerry 8700g and the BlackBerry Pearl smartphones in conjunction with BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service. The BlackBerry 8700g and the BlackBerry Pearl will operate on Grameenphone’s EDGE/GPRS enabled GSM network.

The BlackBerry 8700g and the BlackBerry Pearl smartphones will be available from Grameenphone in January 2008.
