Thomson Reveals Slider PMP/Game Emulator

Thomson, the Chinese electronics manufacturer has just launched the Thomson V888 PMP that has as slider design. It’s equipped, with a 4 inch TFT display that has 16 million colors and has a slide out keypad for the controls.

The V888 is equipped to read all kinds of files. From .PDF to .MOV. The V888 has video, audio, imaging and other file support as well.

It supports video files in - MPEG, Mpeg4, Divx Xvid, MOV, WMV and AVI formats. With regard to audio it can read - MP3, WMA, WAV and FLAC files. It’s also capable of reading PEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF and GIF image files as well as TXT, html and PDF, Since the slide out control panel has directional keys as well as game styled keys in the X, Y, A, B design, it also works as a game emulator.

The Thomson V888 is priced at around Rs. 5418 ($132) but let's hope it comes here.

Sony Launches New VAIO Desktops

After the recent launch of Apple’s new line of products, it is now Sony's turn to step up to the plate. The Japanese major has just launched new versions of their “All in 1 PCs”. The two new models that have been launched are the VAIO LT and VAIO LT HD models. Both these machines include a 22" WSXGA+ "floating glass" display with XBRITE-HiColor LCD technology, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and the newest range of Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 2GB of RAM, a CableCard slot and an 802.11n wireless adapter.

"The LT model has everything you need- it's a PC and HDTV set in one breathtaking device," said Sony VAIO senior VP of product marketing Mike Abary. "It's the ultimate showstopper for media lovers who appreciate high-def performance and cutting-edge technology in a saving space design."

The standard LT model will retail for US$1900 upwards whereas the LT HD will be available for a price of US$2,900 upwards. Both the models will be shipping in October.
